THE MYSTERY OF VENICE

When you first lay your eyes on the Island of Venice

you get a strange mysterious feeling

there is something around every corner.

Making your way through the streets and alleys in Venice

you do indeed find something new every turn you make.

I was like a kid in a maze, enjoying all the shops,

cafes, campo's and the most famous Piazza San Marco.

I was glad Venice was added to our itinery for our trip to Italy!

I am honored to have seen the craftsmenship

of the original hands and primitive tools of the day.

The exquisite architecture that lines the canals,

is slowing being worn away by the mighty sea.

If you have the chance to experience Venice.....DO NOT MISS IT!

Halloween

I was thinking of my trip to Italy and came across this photograph I took when we toured a castle in the Tuscan Hills.  The lion guarding the stairwell caught my eye.

It is not something you would see walking down the street in mainstreet America. An architect would probably never spec something like this to be commissioned for the their next masterpiece.  We need to preserve these treasures of the past and appreciate the meaning behind them.

This would not be my style to work around when building my next house, but I can truly appreciate the craftmanship of the statue and psychology behind it.

Can you imagine being part of the set designing for Harry Potter movies?  WOW.....What a thought!
